    Choosing A Mentor  November 11th, 2010

    One of the most important acts of power I created for myself and my business was in the choosing of a mentor last fall at Lisa Sasevich’s Big Mission Big Sales Big Life event at Mission Bay in San Diego – this was followed shortly after by choosing to invest AGAIN in myself and my business by enrolling as a Diamond Level participant in Kevin Nations Love Mastermind

    I have to tell you a story…..

    I went to an event hosted by Kevin and Lisa called Monetize Your Mission in May of 2009 in Las Vegas.  This was the first time I’d left the house to travel for a businessy type of event in years.  I’d spent most of the previous 7 years deeply in transition between my old career as a real estate developer and my present path of service as a mentor myself to evolving entrepreneurs who are looking to find ways to manage and master their own personal power and the power in their business.

    I really wasn’t sure what to expect – other than that I’d be in a group of other people who were really interested in MONETIZING their MISSION.  This event title SO RESONATED with me that I just KNEW down deep in my soul that I would be receiving a huge benefit from attending – not only through the trainings but also because of the community that would be attracted to this type of an event.  This was business people speaking MY language – they understood I had a MISSION!  (STEP ONE – RESONANCE!)

    So here I am in this room of people, and at the time I was feeling pretty desperate – I’d been on this exploration for several years around HOW to get my Mission out to the world.  I’d tried more than a few things – including having my own art gallery and healing arts center (a $250,000 extravaganza of spending and not earning) and investing as one of the original “Consultants”  in the birthing and launch of The Messenger Network – a project that I poured a whole year of my time and life into with incredibly little financial return.

    I certainly learned a great deal from all those experiences – a great deal about what NOT to do and also about how my BUSINESS ACTIVITIES and CHOICES were reflecting to me SOUL WOUNDS that I was playing out again and again in my business – soul wounds around my own WORTHINESS to both share my blessings and gifts and also RECEIVE abundantly in exchange for the sharing.  I knew it was beyond time to MONETIZE this Mission – because if I didn’t I was going to run out – of time, money and energy and certainly being in a depleted state was not going to be ATTRACTIVE to anyone that might be thinking about working with me.  I’m an ENERGY MASTERY expert – I know what the results are of the frequencies that we emanate – and I knew right then that I was at the point of no return – I needed to do something to shift – and I also needed to do something that was SPECIFICALLY GROUNDED in what I MOST needed in that moment for my business to turn around and begin to thrive.  (STEP TWO: Where is your BIGGEST AREA OF CHALLENGE? Is the person you are considering for a mentor an EXPERT in that AREA?)

    What I also discovered and experienced at that event was the glorious presence of PEOPLE WHO “GOT” ME!! Not only were the presenters “speaking my language” some of them – especially the “Success Story Panel” were “singing my song”!  To be surrounded by a “tribe” so to speak of like minded and like hearted individuals – all of whom had a Mission – was truly a magical thing for me – as a solo-preneur, single mom, stay at home business owner to be in the company of ANGELS was huge.  (STEP THREE – Who are the OTHER people who are attracted to this potential mentor?)

    One of the other awesome surprises for me about this event was that Lisa and Kevin took up an entire segment of the event – CELEBRATING!!! and what they were CELEBRATING was the SUCCESS of their CLIENTS!! not their own success although it was pretty clear they were successfully APPLYING their own work to their businesses, not the success of their programs and products, but the SUCCESS achieved by their clients and in this Celebration they were actually promoting their clients, giving them stage time and putting them in the spotlight.  This was a win-win-win for EVERYBODY!  We got to find out about a whole host of other people and their gifts and blessings in addition to the “official speakers” who were presenting.  What a CONCEPT!   (STEP FOUR -  What are the SUCCESS Stories that the Mentor has been able to facilitate through their program or service?  Is  the Mentor all about themselves or are they a big cheerleader for their CLIENTS?)

    When I came home from that event my entire world had been rocked, shifted, morphed and realigned to be in a higher state of consciousness and awareness about my business, why I was here and also the “WHO’s” that would be getting me to the HOW of what I wanted next to create for myself, my business and my mission.  Later that year I made the investment.  I took the QUANTUM LEAP that put me right in to the Sassy Mastermind with Lisa as a Platinum.  This was a HUGE one time investment for me – the biggest investment all in one chunk that I’d ever made in my life aside from purchasing a house or a car.  AND it delivered IMMEDIATE RESULTS – within 3 weeks I had almost completely recovered the entire investment through the investments of my clients in THEMSELVES to create a positive and powerful shift in their own life and business through my work.   In January of this year I took an even more incredible LEAP of FAITH when my “upstairs team” guided me to jump in with both feet and an open heart at the Diamond Level in Kevin’s Love Mastermind.  (STEP FIVE:  INVEST – IN YOURSELF, IN YOUR BUSINESS, IN YOUR PASSIONATE PURPOSE – This is an ACTION STEP – the ACT of INVESTING says something to the Universe in a very powerful way – it says YES I AM WORTH IT! I AM READY to LEAP and to HAVE FAITH in myself, my vision and my mission and I’m READY to put in whatever it takes to manifest this!)

    It’s been just over a year now since my first big investment with Lisa – that paid off immediately – as I’ve already shared but it has and will continue to throw off benefits long into the future just in terms of the PEOPLE that I was able to connect with, be supported by and in some cases co-create with in one way or another.   I’ve got a few months left in the LOVE Mastermind with Kevin and my “Diamond” partner Scout Wilkins and I have had quite a journey together – we were the two that went all the way in – with both feet – at the highest and deepest level possible.    The most precious gift from this work with Kevin has been for me to be able to truly see without a shadow of a doubt my own WORTH and more importantly the WORTH of my BLESSING to the world!  There is nothing more precious than that.   I’m so very glad that I “listened” to my UPSTAIRS TEAM!! When they said Diamond I was like “WHAT???? YOU MUST BE JOKING!! It was so far out of the realm of reality for me financially at that time – it bordered on the insane.  However – 18 months after my first meeting with Kevin and Lisa – what has happened??? My Mission -  which at the time back in May of 09 generated $400 for the whole month – has been MONETIZED and today I can report that I now have a 6 figure business and I’m serving MORE people, MORE powerfully and with MORE energy than ever before!  Thanks Team!  I am always being called to the next level and I know I’ll never stop investing in myself after this year – nor will I be disconnected from my “tribe” of wonderful compatriots on the group journey!  (STEP SIX:   Listen to your INNER GUIDANCE – IF you are meant to be mentored by someone AND with a SPECIFIC GROUP – soul family is what I call my mastermind buddies – YOU WILL KNOW! – even if it “seems” in the moment as if you don’t have the time, money, energy, attention or whatever it is that is your “But”)

    That’s the end of this little story – the close of this particular “chapter” shall we say – there’s a whole book unwritten before me and I’m excited to see what will unfold in the coming months and years.   I am mightily proud of the shifts that have happened for the clients that my Divine Business Partner Mikael Sami Kumara and I have been able to serve through their journey of transformation.  It’s a JOY to see the people who have invested in themselves through you launch themselves into their DIVINE Destiny!  Here’s one…..

    How Many Ways Can You Hurt……  October 22nd, 2010

    Yourself and Your Business?

    This has been a week of repeated mistakes – each of them has been shown to me – as I have brought the bright shining light of awareness into them – as deeply self-sabotaging.

    Sunday I was supposed to speak – speaking is the way that I share my message, speaking is also the way that I attract new people to my list, people who are supposed to be working with me and my Divine Business Partner in some way to transform their lives. Speaking is the oil for the engine that runs this company. Sunday night I had a speaking gig – on a radio show – hosted by a coach who has lots of listeners who are entrepreneurs – people I am here to serve otherwise I would not have been attracted to reach out to be a guest on his show. For the first time EVER in my life – I didn’t show up – I completely missed this engagement – it wasn’t like I was sick or something and couldn’t do it – I just totally forgot. I’m not going to make any excuses – it’s my job as an entrepreneur – as a speaker – as a guest who is scheduled and has been promoted – to show up! That was the start of the week.

    Two days later – I undersold myself – I’m in a coaching mastermind with Kevin Nations – the Big Ticket Blueprint Mentor. I’ve heavily invested in this program – I have a GREAT coach – a coach who knows what the heck he’s talking about it because he’s living it every single day – a coach who knows and shares with abandon – exactly how to create a business model that not only values the transformation that I provide appropriately but also values my own desires to live a certain lifestyle – a lifestyle that allows me to be at football games for my son, a lifestyle that lets me choose when, where and how I’m going to work. What I did on that call when I was talking to the client was I judged, I assumed, and I robbed – that’s right – I robbed that person of the opportunity to receive the BEST work that I and my partner have to offer. I robbed myself and my partner and my business of the opportunity to receive fully and completely the value of our work. I robbed myself of the wisdom that my mentor has supplied me with time and time again. I robbed my business of my single minded focus.

    Then on Wednesday I really blew it – in the biggest most heinous way possible. In my work – ESPECIALLY in my private work – the creation of a relationship of safety, trust and sacredness is THE NUMBER ONE most important aspect of the work. Creating Sacred Space for someone to dive into the depths of their being – to bring to the surface all the wounds, all the fears, all the doubts, all the traumas, all the dramas that are blocking them from moving forward fearlessly and courageously in the delivery of their most precious gifts to the world is what I do! It’s because of the high level of integrity and impeccability that I intend to create and hold that people are willing to invest in themselves through me. The creation of a reputation as one who is impeccable with my word and deeply honoring of the process of my clients is what my business has been built upon. People know their “stuff” is safe with me. I have a SOUL LEVEL agreement to keep private stuff private unless I’ve been given permission to share. What did I do on Wednesday? I told a private client story – on the phone – on a live call – and I did NOT have permission. Professional Suicide. And of course – wouldn’t you know – the client was actually on the call – listening. 2.35 minutes of total idiocy, lack of consciousness and disrespect for the sacred agreement – betrayal of trust. Uck!

    Yesterday I spent the day sitting in my stupidity – self flagellating and running a constant stream of conversation in my head that repeatedly reminded me of my total inadequacy as a human being, a teacher, a healer and a leader. I also experienced a deep desire to run and hide – to give it all up – to say to hell with it – let someone else play this role – I’m finished. I tried to shift the burden – to pretend innocence – like “I was just following this system” and deep inside I knew THAT WAS A CROCK. This was followed by the refrain of a favorite oldie as the “I can’t do anything right” song played loudly in my head. Followed by “Whatta my gonna do NOW?” Followed by a wide array of ways I could throw myself on my sword and cut out my heart to give it to my private client in order to somehow make amends.

    Finally I stopped. Took a deep breath. Looked around at the carnage and said to myself – ok – what was that REALLY all about. Know what – I think it means I need to let go. To let go of the need to always be perfect. To let go of my own judgments about others and myself. To let go of the need to control everything, do everything, be everything. To let myself be – to stop picking the scab of low self worth and let it heal. It’s time. To breathe again – to take personal responsibility and to look for help in transmuting all this within my own system – the SCORE for your Spiritually Energized Entrepreneurial Success System which my Divine Business Partner Mikael Sami-Kumara and I deliver in our CORE PATH – The Foundations of Divine Wealth Intensive!

    I’m going to SCORE myself and my business – Surfacing (did a pretty good job of that this week) Clearing – That’s the next step for me now – Opening (I wonder what will happen when my client and I have an open conversation about this) – Revealing – What are the hidden gifts – what do they mean for my business – what is all this showing to me? and finally ENERGIZING – because let’s face it life goes on. We can either be in it – the messy as well as the beautiful or we can check out – it’s going to keep on going and going and going like the Energizer Bunny – remember him?

    Surround Yourself With Success  September 13th, 2010

    Successful people do one thing – they COMMIT.  To themselves, to their dream, to the people they are here to serve and to the Universe.
    When you are called into your greatness – there is an overwhelming desire to move into the work – you are passionate, excited, enthusiastic and filled with juice – you’ve got your goals in sight – your engines are revving and you are caught in the throes of a LOVE AFFAIR with your work!

    Then like in all good relationships – the high-octane fuel of new love recedes and the time comes for you to settle in and do the regular work of feeding the fire of your passion and keeping it going.  THAT is the PRECISE time that you need to surround yourself with others who are successfully – VERY successfully delivering their gifts to the world.

    When your own initial burst of excitement has burnt itself out – you need friends, partners,  mentors, colleagues, coaches, trainers, and masterminders to help you to continue to move forward into your becoming – into your dreams and into the service that you were born to deliver into the world.

    This is the most important time to LOOK AROUND and to SEE exactly who you have in your life- are the people around you your cheerleaders?  Are you surrounded by folks who want the very best for you? Do you have anyone on your team who can offer a CONSTRUCTIVE view of where you might have some (or even many) weaknesses in your plan?  Are there people in your circle who have already succeeded in doing something similar to what you are trying to accomplish.

    The birds are squawking outside my window this morning – crows I think – reminding me to remind you that “Birds of a feather flock together” – so take a GOOD LONG LOOK at who you are “flocking” with.  If you are challenged to move forward in your work – perhaps you’ve been spending too much time with the naysayers and it’s time to look elsewhere – to look to create relationships with people who you wish to emulate – to engage in activities that are going to grow you, expand your mind about what is possible and provide a container of mutual support within which to investigate just where you might need some additional help to strengthen your own areas of weakness.

    Detach from Drama – drama just sucks up your life force – your energy and it makes you lose focus on what is truly important to you.  If you are surrounded by a lot of drama – ask yourself – what within me is ready to die to all this so that I can actually create something beautiful, sustainable and transferable that will serve not only myself but also the people I am here to serve and perhaps even future generations.  Who is out there that is doing what I want to do?  Go out there and start “flocking” with them – sooner or later Success Rubs Off.  Seriously!

    Practice, Persistence & Patience….  September 7th, 2010

    Oh MY!  (Lions & Tigers & Bears! OH MY!) – Here’s what happens – when you are willing – to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE and PRACTICE some more – (this is called persistence) you begin to develop the magical quality of PATIENCE – allowing things to unfold in their OWN time – including YOU and your business.  Part of the work of a Passion-preneur is the deep development of this patience muscle.  You have been STRUCK THROUGH THE HEART and you have deep burning desire to serve the world in the highest ways possible to bring your gifts to the table, to help those you are here to serve and to joyfully co-create magic, miracles and money with your entrepreneurship!  And yet……
    There are SO many pieces of this ART of running a business – that sometimes you can trip, fall and get deeply discouraged.  Here is where the practice comes in handy – one of my favorite practices is to become DEEPLY aware and just NOTICE when I’ve lost the fire in my belly and the flame in my heart for the work that I know I’ve been born to do.  When that happens as a PRACTICE – it’s time to take some time away from the work – and to make a retreat where you can re-kindle the flame and come back into right relationship with your business and fuel yourself to continue to persist in bringing your gifts in to the world in positive, productive and profitable ways.

    It can be challenging to have a HUGE vision and then to realize that you are not going to INSTANTLY MANIFEST it!  Spirit gives you these big visions as opportunities to grow – inside yourself and inside your business.  Cultivating that patience muscle is a way to hone and refine your Spirit.  When you wait for something – and when you take your time to carefully and mindfully and patiently craft something – then you will be creating lasting value in the world – and you will be (EXACTLY ON TIME) richly rewarded for it!
    There are so many parts to a successful business – and the journey to success is one that is filled with a huge variety of challenges that you must face, apply your skill to and overcome.  For many evolving entrepreneurs the discovery of  your passionate purpose is just the beginning – there is so much to learn, so much to synthesize and then so much to integrate before finally putting all those parts together into a viable, sustainable, thriving enterprise that is the carrying vessel for your accumulated wisdom and knowledge.

    This fall I’m in the space myself of having been called into a BIG vision – the creation of my first big Telesummit event – I’ve figured out why it’s called a Summit! – Because like climbing a high mountain peak the creating and delivery of this event has been quite a journey – there have been a lot of ditches, some crevasses, a few slippery slopes, a lot of strategizing, some muscling through, and the peak at this point is ALMOST but NOT QUITE in sight!

    How to stay the course? Practice – everyday – I have a yoga practice and I’ve also been called even more deeply into my own energetic practices as well as mindset work – the most valuable of which has been “STAY IN TODAY”.  Persist – just keep moving – put one foot in front of the other, step by step you make steady progress and finally PATIENCE – this has been a big life long quality that I’ve been cultivating.  The harvest will arrive – in it’s own time – you don’t see the farmer planting a seed in the field and then going out the next day and looking for the fruit of the vine.  Breathing is a great way to encourage patience and discourage anxiety and fear from creeping in when you wonder if you are ever going to make it to the peak or if you are going to go slipping away and crash and burn in a devastating heap!  Just keep breathing.

    Back in the Day…  August 23rd, 2010

    I want to share a funny story with you – a few weeks ago I launched my DIVINE Partners affiliate program and the first email I sent out to my new affiliates had the subject line “Remember that Old Wella Balsam Commercial?”

    This commercial was really good at illustrating the point of how just by telling a few friends about something the news spreads and expands exponentially – I wanted to remind people about the power of “telling two friends” and use the reference to this old commercial as a tool to inspire my new affiliates to begin promoting the preview call that initiated the launch of my big fall event the 6 Figure Speakers Summit

    So the funny thing is when I set up this email and sent out I figured everyone would “get” it and appreciate the intent in sharing it – well imagine my surprise when – a week later I was talking with my summit support team and half the team had never even heard of the commercial! In fact one of my team members wasn’t even born yet when the commercial was made and aired! Boy was I surprised and I really got a big AHA about my marketing and my communications with my Divine Partners.

    1st AHA – Never assume that people know what you are talking about – so here’s the link to the commercial so YOU will know what I’m talking about :  Faberge Wheat Germ Oil & Honey Shampoo

    2nd AHA – Never assume that your people have the same frame of reference that you do (corollary to 1st AHA)

    3rd AHA – Be clear on what your intent is and communicate it in a multitude of ways (It would have served better if I had shared the video link in that first email instead of assuming that people would know)

    4th AHA – Never “date” yourself or your materials – try to communicate in a compelling way but be “evergreen” with your message so that no matter who reads it they are going to get it.

    5th AHA – This commercial was actually at the time demonstrating a concept that has since been translated into a powerful tool for communicating your message (Social Media) so it was actually modeling a concept that became a future trend (the commercial was also at the very beginning of the “organic” movement.

    6th AHA – Make sure your team is also on the same page with you before you send something out – so you are all clear together on the intent of the communication and the team is also prepared to respond if there are customer service or partner issues

    7th AHA – remember that you can always use a “boo boo” to your advantage – I ended up sending out a followup email that included the commercial AND gave me the opportunity to have another round of communication with my Divine Partners to encourage them to start promoting again for this week’s Preview Call # 2 on Thursday.

    8th AHA – I was able to see that my business is moving to the next level now and so I need to be even more clear, more intentional, more precise and more attentive to my messages.

    9th AHA – I learned a lot from this experience – and am able to share it with you!! – I can continue to harvest gold and wisdom that generates valuable content that serves my community! Ahhhhhh AHA!

    YESSS!! I Finally GOT IT!  June 28th, 2010

    Startin Early!

    Don’t you just love when something you have been trying to accomplish or have been studying finally comes together, the light dawns and you actually FINALLY GET IT??  That happened for me at the end of last year with Kevin Nations work when I finally GOT the sales conversation process and was able to successfully apply it and generate my first five figure month!  The best part about learning how to fish – rather than having some one fish for you is that you can be fed for LIFE – since December I have been able to consistently repeat that initial success from the beginning of the year and have actually booked more revenue in the last six months than I have in the last 8 years!  What an AMAZING and MIRACULOUS GIFT!

    To be sure I have also made consistent and quite substantial investments in myself in those areas in my own business where I was really blocked or just didn’t have the skill set I needed to succeed and so as fast as the money has started to flow in it’s also flown right back out again as I realized that I needed to shift things in my business and get more help which was clearly the case when I broke my wrist in February and everything came nearly to a complete halt in my ability to continue with the administrivia exactly at the time that all the seeds I planted in the first month of the year were starting to pop with some big Teleseminars and events that I participated in.

    The weekend I spent at the beginning of June in San Diego though I FINALLY FINALLY GOT the next key that I have been working on – and this is the key that is going to feed me, my business, my staff, my clients and my family for generations to come – I FINALLLLLLLLLY GOT Lisa Sasevich’s Speak to Sell Signature Talk System.  Now I’ve been listening and watching this woman for a whole year – in fact last May – 2009 – a month where the sum total of my gross revenues was $400 was the first time I connected in person with both Kevin and Lisa at their joint event Monetize Your Mission which was held in Las Vegas.

    Since then I have listened to her several times on the phone during free calls, enrolled in her 6 Figure Teleseminar Secrets Teleclass, attended  her October event Big Mission, Big Sales, Big Life where I enrolled in her Sassy Mastermind, began her Speak to Sell Virtual Workshop, attended the first Sassy Mastermind Retreat at Miraval and have had access to a plethora of information, calls and support through the Mastermind forum.   Still I didn’t GET it!! And I’m a pretty smart cookie too……

    The fact is that I have seen and heard Lisa teaching, modeling and demonstrating her model over and over and over again.  The fact is that IT WORKS!  The fact is that I have personally enrolled, and also witnessed countless others enroll and succeed with her work – turning mediocre businesses into thriving enterprises with both SPEED and EASE!  What WAS it that was keeping ME from getting it???  Now I could play the “blame” game – “Lisa’s just not giving me what I paid for” would be in that category.  Or I could play the “victim” game – “I’m just never going to be able to get this – I can’t do this – It’s just too hard”.  Or I could play the “My Clients are Different” game – Lisa even has a little song for this one – “My Clients are different they won’t get this talk – E I E I O.”  OR I could just continue to persist playing the “martyr” game – “Look at me I’m trying so hard – how come nobody is buying or giving me credit for how hard I’m working to get this!”

    You know what – none of those GAMES is going to get ME or YOU anywhere.  What I discovered in La Jolla at the Speak to Sell Bootcamp was that the reason I wasn’t getting it was IN ME!! It was my OWN resistance to just doing the step by step EASY process that she had laid right out in front of me – over and over and over again.  It was my OWN resistance to actually crafting a talk using the formula that I could quite easily see was a successful formula time and again.  It was my OWN resistance to stepping up into the game at a much higher level and becoming a speaker who CRAFTS her talks rather than just “winging” it – and crafts them in ways that not only serves the audience in the receiving of the talk but also serves them into the information that will help them to get even greater levels of service and deeper and more intimate and more profoundly shifting work through me.  It was my OWN resistance to earning unlimited amounts of money that will allow the growth of my business and the ability to create even MORE products and services to serve even MORE people.

    And all that RESISTANCE was ENERGETIC – it was in MY ENERGY FIELD.  Even though I work with clients and serve them through their own energy shifts each and every day I didn’t REALIZE this was going on with me until I sat in that room in La Jolla and Lisa instructed us to just start writing – and there it was – RIGHT IN MY FACE!  I couldn’t deny it – but I could definitely DO something about it!  That night I shared my frustration with my partner in the Energy Journey work – Mikael Sami – and he and I did a piece of work right then and there – shifting the energy and clearing out the density that was causing the resistance – all centered in my Solar Plexus chakra.  In fact it was the first time that I can recall in a long time that there was no particular “story” attached to the energy other than the one I was in at that moment – we just shifted the energy, cleared it out and BOOM I was opened and receiving that Speak to Sell Formula talk right away!

    Even more interesting – I discovered that this talk was not just MY talk – this was actually supposed to be a joint talk – shared between Mikael and myself – and because we BOTH had attended the event and BOTH had common ground to stand on in terms of knowing the language of how to craft the talk – we were able to put the talk together EASY as PIE!! With both of us working on our individual parts of the talk on the airplane we had it nearly complete by the time we got home – two nights later we pre-recorded it so that we could see how long it lasted (66 minutes!) and by Thursday of that week we had done a beta test call to people from Lisa’s list only and have begun the followup process that she describes that lead to sales post-preview call!

    I’m jubilant that I now GET THIS!! I can see and know that I can create a multitude of talks that will be both powerful, provocative and profitable for both myself and my audience and I can also CO-CREATE with Mikael – which means (YAY FOR SHARING) I don’t have to do it ALL BY MYSELF (Martyr – Rest in PEACE)!  So what does this mean to you?
